Prof. John Mooney, executive director of the Pepperdine University Institute for Entertainment, Media, and Culture, also serves as an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Technology Management at the Pepperdine University Graziadio Business School as well as a Research Affiliate at the MIT Sloan Center for Information Systems Research. Prof. Mooney’s expertise is in digital innovation and business analytics. He holds a PhD in Information Systems and Business Strategy from UC Irvine, and a Master of Management Science with a BS in Computer Science both from University College Dublin, Ireland.

John Shaw

CIO with Primeline, the leading Brand and Logistics company with 1,000 staff John previously held senior Technology Leadership positions in excellent organisations such as Planet, Kingspan, Mainstream, Pfizer, Accenture and General Electric. John is an expert in delivering business value via practical Technology strategies.He is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland, a Senior member of IEEE and a European Professional Engineer. With an MBA in Technology Management and an Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering, John is an active member of IEEE and the Innovation Value Institute. He was Chair of the Computing Division at Engineers Ireland 2012-2013.

Fergal Ryan

Fergal has many years experience in the IT industry working a variety of roles in multinationals and start-ups.

Fergal is an IT Director with Xilinx where he has responsibility for serveeral global IT functions. These include B2B integration with key trading partners across North America, Asia and EMEA, on-premise and cloud application integration middleware, DBA function and Workload Automation go the next level.

Fergal is a memebr of the steering committee of the Irish Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition, and of the Innovation Value Institutes Industry Steering Board. Fergal has a computer Science degree from Trinity College Dublin, is an Iasa CITA-F certified architect, and also is certified in Tier 2 of the IVI IT-CMF.

Sinéad Murnane

Sinéad Murnane is a Research Fellow at the Innovation Value Institute, Maynooth University. She is a Fulbright Scholar, having received the Fulbright-CRH Award in Business Studies 2010-2011, and an additional grand from the John F Kennedy Memorial Scholarship Fund.

She is currently the President of the Irish Fulbright Alumni Association.  Her research is concerned with exploring collaboration and knowledge sharing in multi-disciplinary and knowledge-intensive environments.

Louise Veiling

Louise is a Research Fellow with the Innovation Value Institute (IVI) with a focus on organisational change, innovation and user experience. Prior to MU, Louise led UX, content development and product teams at a number of Digital Media companies.

Hugo de Sousa

Hugo de Sousa leads the Innovation Services practice at BearingPoint in Ireland, helping organisations develop new growth engines, better value propositions, and powerful business models.

BearingPoint is deeply committed to helping legacy organisations to become more innovative.

Hugo is a thought leader in corporate innovation, a former entrepreneur, government advisor in innovation and digital transformation, and a seasoned CIO/CTO.

Alistair Russell

Alistair Russell is SVP, Advisory Services at CIO Connect, leading their consulting work with CIOs from their bases in UK, Hong Kong and Singapore. His own field of practice is strategic organisational development and subsequent support to the design and delivery of transformation. Alistair and CIO Connect have been working with IVI from the start and use the toolset in their consulting work with CIOs and their organisations.

Prior to joining CIO Connect, Alistair was Director of Executive Education at Durham Business School. Prior to the Business School, Alistair was with PA Consulting Group fro 12 years, leading major programmes of organisation and process change enabled by information systems and technology. Alistair previously held a number of project and engineering management positions with ICI plc.

Caroline Cooney-Hurrell

Caroline spent more than 20 years working for Starwood Hotels and Resorts, a large multi-national hotel company. Using LEAN Six Sigma, she transformed the organisation’s traditional siloed call centre into a global customer support campus that was laser focused on delivering what the customer wants, when and how they want it. In her current role with Cumulus Consulting, she brings outside thinking to the table as organisations develop their Customer Experience Strategies to enhance their brand, making the most of technology to support human interactions.

Enda McDonnell

Enda is Manager of the Financial Services and Fintech Department within Enterprise Ireland leading a team that works with a range of Fintech and Financial Services companies at all stages of development

He also manages Enterprise Ireland’s BPO & Business & Consumer Department. Previous roles included EI’s Senior Policy Adviser, Manager of EI’s Potential Exporters Division, Global Sourcing and Pubic Procurement Departments and Enterprise Ireland’s Regional Director with responsibility the South/South East Region.

Dr. Oisín Boydell

Oisín is Principal Data Scientist and Head of the Applied Research Group at CeADAR, Ireland’s centre for Applied AI at University College Dublin. His primary research interests include deep learning and machine learning, realtime analytics and blockchain technology. After working as a software developer in the UK, Oisín returned to UCD to undertake a PhD in Computer Science, researching novel approaches for personalized information retrieval. Prior to joining CeADAR he worked for a number of years in the research and innovation team at ChangingWorlds Ltd (subsequently acquired by Amdocs Ltd) where he developed big data analytics and machine learning solutions for the telecommunications industry. At CeADAR, Oisín leads industry focussed research projects in collaboration with industry partners across a broad range of technology areas including machine learning, deep learning, blockchain, recommender systems, data stream processing and real-time analytics.

Martin Carry

Head of Enterprise, Evros
Martin is an experienced Enterprise Architect with over 20 years in solution design behind him. Leading the Enterprise practice in Evros Martin provides consultative engagements with customers to develop strategic direction on their Digital , Cloud , and Infrastructure strategies.

Daniela Illuminati

Dublin Site Lead @ Voxpro

Daniela is an experienced leader with extensive background in online operations in the tech industry, having worked for almost 10 years in Google Ireland, across various teams supporting the AdWords Sales organisation, by providing customer service, technical support as well as sales consultancy services to global accounts in the Google Adwords and YouTube network.

Her experience in the tech industry continued then at Facebook Ireland, where she lead the EMEA Intellectual Property Operations team. Within this org, she also built and launched the first global IP Escalation team at Facebook, tasked to deal with the most complex, sensitive and high-priority IP, defamation and hate speech cases that could have presented a risk for the company from a legal and/or PR point of view.

Daniela is extremely passionate about diversity and creating an inclusive culture and work environment.

Mark Pinkster

Mark is currently Product Manager for Cloud Provisioning at BNY Mellon, where he provides technology governance and oversight responsibility for BNY Mellon’s public cloud environment. He is currently developing their cloud strategy and managing their initial public cloud proof of concepts. Prior to this role, Mark was the BNYM EU and MEA End User technology manager, providing end user IT service delivery across 29 sites. Born in Dublin, he studied at Maynooth University, where he completed a BA degree in Economics, English and Sociology. After I graduating, he continued his post graduate studies in Information Technology at MU. Before joining BNY Mellon, he enjoyed roles in Software Engineering, System Administration and Configuration Management.

Brian McLafferty

Brian is the Global Digital Transformation Director at Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Financial Services (HPEFS).
He is an accomplished Senior Manager with 25 years experience in developing and implementing company strategy. The most recent 10 years in HPE Financial Services designing, developing and implementing the Digital Transformation (DX) for the organization.
His is proficient in leading cross-functional global teams to successfully achieve company digital strategic goals. He has a demonstrated ability in people management, to encourage and inspire others to do their best work by setting challenging goals and creating a results-focused environment, while maintaining a high level of integrity at all times.

Kathy O’Mahony

Kathy has worked in a variety of roles within AIB’s Contact Centre for the past 20 years. Currently working as a Senior Manager in Homes Commercial with specific responsibility for Direct Mortgages, she is responsible for delivering sales performance, customer experience and people leadership across an omni channel and ever evolving digital environment. Prior to working in Direct Banking, Kathy worked in Direct Service, notably Phone and Internet Banking and Card Services. She has participated on various bank wide strategic and transformational projects.
Kathy is a Board member of the CCMA (Customer Contact Management Association) and the recipient of the 2017 Irish Sales Champion Manager of the Year Award.
Originally from Boston Massachusetts where she worked as a Registered Nurse (RN, BSN), Kathy is married and living in Ireland with 3 grown up children.

Damian Costello

Damian Costello is head of innovation at Synecco and leads the group’s innovation and long-term strategy business; Decode Innovation. Damian specialises in Disruptive Innovation and the changing market dynamics facing the Medtech sector.A prolific speaker on the topic of digital disruption, the digitisation of healthcare and how the Internet of things is driving both,Damian is passionate about helping Ireland become an even more pivotal player in the global Medtech economy.

Damian has almost 25 years of consulting experience across global multi-nationals to local start-ups in the Medical Device, Pharma, Automotive, Financial Services and ICT sectors. He has delivered successful strategies and breakthrough solutions in Ireland, Europe, North America and Asia.

Prof Markus Helfert

Markus Helfert is the Director of the Innovation Value Institute research centre and Professor of Digital Service Innovation at Maynooth University. His research interests include PayTech,Information Management, Innovation, Cloud Computing, Service Science, Enterprise Architecture and Smart Cities and Smart Buildings. He collaborates with a range of Enterprises in relation to Innovation and IT Management. He is the Project coordinator of the H2020 Projects: PERFORM on Digital Retail and is the Chair of Steering Committee Elite-S H2020 Marie Curie Project on ‘Future Leaders in ICT Standardisation for Europe’.

Markus has authored more than 200+ academic articles, journal and book contributions and has presented his work at international conferences. He is a member of the international programme committees and reviewer and associate editor of IS journals.
