It has accelerated the digital transformation of many organisations and this has highlighted the need to rethink the  leadership, organisational culture, operating models and other aspects of the ‘future of work’.

The Speakers

Dr Jean Cushen

Jean is a Lecturer and Director of Postgraduate Teaching & Learning within the Business School of Maynooth University (MU) and the Programme Director of the MSc Business Management. Jean is a member of the University ‘Political Economy of Work’ research cluster. Jean’s research explores the contemporary employment experience focusing on financialization, the labour process and human resource management (HRM). Jean has published on these topics in top ranked international journals including ‘Accounting, Organizations and Society’ and ‘Work Employment and Society’. Jean has also contributed to HRM related publications including HRM encyclopedias and textbooks, CIPD and IBEC publications.

Kevin Empey

Kevin has specialised in people strategy and organisation & leadership development for over 25 years.  He is the founder and Managing Director of WorkMatters, an international consulting and training firm focused on helping business leaders, HR leaders and their employees thrive in the changing world of work.  He is the Programme Director of the Senior Leadership Programme at the Irish Management Institute and has led award winning research focused on organisational agility and the human implications concerning the ‘future of work’.  Kevin was appointed to the Irish Civil Service’s Top Level Appointments Committee (TLAC) as well as the Labour Market Council and has won several national and international awards for his work in the areas of social entrepreneurship, employment policy and ‘Future of Work’ research.

Fin Goulding

Fin is an expert in Business and Technical agility having worked as a CIO and/or CTO in several major organisations such as Aviva, Paddy Power, lastminute.com, travelocity.com, HSBC, RBS and Visa. He has consistently been named as one of the top global CIO’s year-on-year and is recognised as one of the most experienced enterprise agile leaders in the world today. He has been pioneering new ways of working using visualisation techniques and agile practices in all areas of businesses in order to help organisations achieve digital transformation through cultural transformation. He has a unique perspective having worked in startups, .com’s and large scale Companies.He has co-authored two of the best selling books on business agility: Flow: A Handbook for Change Makers, and 12 Steps to Flow.


Facilitator: Joan Mulvihill

As the Digitalisation Lead for Siemens in Ireland, Joan Mulvihill continues to be at the forefront of driving technology adoption in Ireland. Having held the position of CEO of the Irish Internet Association for 7 years, followed by 2 years as the Centre Director for the Irish Centre for Cloud Computing and Commerce, her role at Siemens builds on Siemens’ and her deep commitment to and understanding of the needs of Irish business for their digital transformation. The IVI Webinar series aims to bring together thought leaders from the world of academia, business and public sector to address key challenges in the areas of innovation, technology management and technology adoption. In 2020 the webinar series will replace the IVI annual summit which has taken place since 2007 in Maynooth University and has attracted speakers and attendees from across the globe.
